Yes you guessed right. Asenath is unpacking cupboards - of cause gran and granpa just loves it she even has her own dedicated cupboards to unpack. Hope this phase passes quickley...

Time Flies When You Having Fun

Although she's got many, many, many soft fluffy toys it seems she prefers a toy oupa can't get enough of. This toy is the cause of many fights Asenath has with Oupie Dopie

Can you believe our angel is 7 months old today and looks like she knows it. In the past few weeks she's been sailing around (so we have to watch her with eagle eyes when she's on the bed), walking backwards in her walking ring - to open up draws and cupboards, sitting at the big dinning room table (of cause while being strapped to her car seat) when we have dinner while eating her biscuits, and today she started standing in her cot.

She's growing up so fast I can hardly believe that we brought her home just 7 months ago. A few months ago I bought her a CD called the Roach Approach - its about the cockroaches that went onto Noah's Arch. Looks like Asenath understands every word they say. Its is often the only way one can get her calm and she's even singing along to the songs (Of cause only she knows the language she's singing it in).

A New Baby

It is 12:07 and I'm still awake - here is the reason why... After 10 years of working for different bosses I've decided to take a giant leap of faith and become my own boss. For months now I've been playing around with the idea of starting an Events Company and its finally looking like its coming together brilliantly. Although I have not started yet I've laid allot of ground work and thanks to my awesome brother I have an impressive website ready and waiting to go live. I still have some huge hurdles to overcome, but with all the help and support I have I'm pretty sure everything is going to work out just fine.

When I think of the little sleep I'm getting with all the late night planning, I guess you could say I have a new baby on the way. Will let you know when its born - in the meantime my Herbal Life Thermogetics is working overtime.

I think he's really cross for me this time. We had a moment of intense fellowship. Every morning our bedside alarm goes off at 05:30, CD gets up 1st takes his shower gets dressed the softly tells me Verna its 06:00. By the time I wake up breakfast is ready which is often cereal followed by eggs and or toast. My lunch is also ready with a fruit and juice for work. Well this morning was no different since CD is always singing while he does it I assume he loves doing it while I try to sleep until the very last min - I'm not the best morning person. I don't see why I can't only start work at 12:00. Well it all works quite well for me until occasionally we oversleep - the alarm goes off 15min late. These are usually the days when we have our moment of intense fellowships about how I need to be up earlier.

I know his right, but do I have to admit to it. If I say sorry, but you right I will have to change my waking up routine and I read somewhere that routine is good... Strange thing is when we with Asenath and she for some reason wakes up at 03:00am I'm usually the first one up to change her nappy and warm her bottle and feed her.

Looks like I should have eaten the garlic. I had the flue all week last week and I gave it to Simba Chipy. But we both doing much better now...

30 YEARS IS A LONG TIME...

Its mom and dad's 30th wedding anniversary.
In this day and age 30 years is almost unheard of I'm soooooooo proud of them. All I can say is that after 30 years they've set the goal posts extremely high. We'll be married 3 years in a few days time and it makes 30 years seem a life time away. Its not everyday that you find people married for sooooo long who still loves, respects, supports and encourages each other. We wish them many more years to come...

With Asenath being with them all week Gran and Gramps gets to see from the smile she wakes up with each and every morning till the fight she puts up every night before falling off to sleep. That means she does everything with them from going on shopping trips to working with Grandpa, who puts her on the table in his office while his working. I recon Simba Chipy watched him working for the first 3 months and now she seems to think she knows exactly how a Laptop works.

Thank you for always being there for us. The list would be endless if I had to thank you for everything you've done for us. I can't think of a single time that you were not there for me or any one else I know be it family or a stranger. Just to mention one of many Not too long ago I locked my car's key in my car while being at work and you never hesitated to go cut a new house key for my place in order to get my spare key so I can drive home. You've always taken your stand for what is right no matter how unpopular it will make you. Thank you for leading by example, because you don't only talk the talk, but you walk the talk as well.

Sometimes not making a decision is a decision...

While Asenath and daddy is taking their Sunday nap, I'm laying and thinking about today's service. And something just struck me...

For a long time now my hubby and I have been discussing a big decision we need to make in our lives, but because its such a hard decision to make we've kinda swept it under the carpet and pretended that there is no change to make. Well today I realized that this decision needs to be made urgently, because not making a decision is a decision, sometimes by saying nothing you are condoning the next persons actions you really saying - I'm okay with what others are doing or saying regardless of how you feel...

I know the right decision will not be one everyone I know will like, but I'd rather be right in God's eyes before I seek favour in the sight of man. Someone I know likes to say: Let the dogs bark God's caravan is moving on.

Back in the land of the living...

Yes I'm back finally. Between Asenath and work I been neglecting my blog, but I'm back and hope to post more often.

Life in the Damons house will never be the same again... Because I'm back at work Ashy stays with gran and gramps during the week and comes home weekend. So my weeks have become much longer. I miss her all day - everyday and when Friday comes along its like it just takes to long to become 17:00. We must have done something right cause she's the sweetest little Simba Chipy ever. We thought the sleepless nights were going to last forever, but to our surprise when she was about 2 months old she started sleeping right through from about 20:30 till 05:00 in the morning (our little alarm clock) However now she refuses to take long naps during the day. She's growing sooooo fast I can't believe just a few weeks ago I came home with our little mustard seed (Mathew 17:20 - If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; AND NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE UNTO YOU).

When we with her she gets to hear a bedtime story the way only daddy can tell one about the 3 little piggies and (wolf - the way you say it in Afrikaans) She loves it when mommy eats her fingers and actually passes the one hand after the other to me. I don't know who told her that you use the word Ja when you want attention and neeeeeeee when you don't like something. Mommy tries to speak proper English to her - while daddy speaks regte Afrikaans. Who knows mommy just might become a stay at him mom in the not soooo distant future and look after Simba Chipy.
